The mission of the WVNPS is to further the appreciation and conservation of the state’s flora through education and voluntary action.

Our programs

WVNPS supports a variety of programs, including:

  • Field trips to learn about plants in their natural habitats

  • Activities that promote the preservation and enhancement of WV’s wild plant communities

  • Programs to educate the public about native plants and their threats

  • Documentation of native flora, especially rare and endangered species

  • Periodic newsletter and communications with members on topics of interest
